Here are some of the production photos of Chemist 3s music video shoot at Transmission Studio on Wednesday. G, Yvette and Rico are putting together a video for their new track “Turn It Up” which, I must say, is a sic song. Yvette’s vocals are beautiful and paired with G and Rico will send this song up the charts. The shoot went smoothly and, as you can see, the images look really hot. This was the first shoot on our green cyc wall, and our producer was really happy with the outcome and ease of use in the studio. We are using KW2 florescent lights on the green background and a tungsten kit for the subjects. The cyc lights are part of the studio rental package. The backlit shots turned out awesome with the fog machine creating a look that makes you feel they are in the middle of the street. And the shadowbox turned into a really nice image to mix in with the others. The group shot is of the crew and friends. Back Row L-R: Arjae, Rodney Billups (Chauncey Billups brother), G Smith (Producer/Songwriter), Julia Henderson, Rico Henderson, Yvette Marshall, Brianna Marshall, Vera Lucero and Phil Lucero. Front Row L-R: Johnny Moorehouse (DP), Chris Guillot (Director) and Dwayne.

This is a Blackberry photo of the Union Pacific Railyard in Tucson, AZ where PL Productions shot video for an upcoming public information piece with URS Corporation’s Creative Solutions Group. The engine in the center of the picture is referred to as the “Green Goat”, but is officially the YD40. We never figured out why it is nicknamed that. It was really interesting working with the Union Pacific and having access to the yards and lines in Arizona. The rail line is currently replacing old track and we were afforded the opportunity to get an up close look at how it is done. You might imagine black and white photos of thousands of Chinese laborers with sledgehammers, but it is now very automated and requires only a handful of workers to keep the machines running. All of the old wooden ties are removed and new concrete ties are put in place.
Our locations were between Phoenix and Tucson, so we not only enjoyed warm sunny weather far from the single digits in Colorado, but we were also treated to many historic and interesting sites including Picacho Peak Monument. Unfortunately, the monument has suffered a major drop in tourism and the site looks like a burned out ghost town. Nevertheless, the ostrich farm next door seems to be doing OK.
